A Day in the Life
As a clinical product engineer at Medtronic you will be responsible for supporting the complaints handling process and performs clinical case analysis to determine cause of failure. This position also leads a cross-functional effort to investigate clinical, software, hardware and all other types of product performance related complaints. As well as manage finding communication to the commercial team and/or customer.
You may also be required to assist with clinical implementation of our Products, procedures or approaches through creation of processes, training material, professional documents & on-site training and support. This position has the responsibility and authority to support robotics surgical systems through the product life cycle, with primary focus in clinical related complaint handling and investigations during post market monitoring.
As part of your day to day:
Support complaint investigations and clinical analysis in accordance with 21 CFR § 820.198 and ISO 13485:2016 8.2.2
You will provide on-site clinical support, locally and internationally
Develop, prepare, and analyze product performance trend reports
Communicates results with internal departments, i.e., Product, R&D, RA, and Quality
Communicates results with customers and field sales representatives
You will provide usability feedback to Product Development department – creating and distributing summary reports for required products in the field
Actively pursue answers and updates from investigation subject matter experts
You will support Risk Management activities as Clinical subject matter expert
Bachelor’s degree in scientific area
Minimum of 2 years of experience as product/ application engineer/ project manager in the medical device industry.
Experience in interacting with cross functional team members and customers.
Experience in prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
Experience in present data in a clear and concise manner
Ability to travel extensively - 25%
Outstanding verbal and written technical communication skills
Fluent in English
Nice to Haves
Advanced degree - significant advantage
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in operating room environment – significant advantage
MS Project – preferred
