WILSONVILLE, Ore., January 10, 2011—Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ: MENT) today announced a series of Technology Design Kits (TDKs) that support analog-intensive BCDMOS process technologies from Dongbu HiTek, a leading, specialized foundry based in South Korea. The new TDKs jointly released today streamline BCDMOS chip design at the 0.35/0.18-micron node, with additional TDKs available in the coming year.

According to Taek-Soo Kim, VP of Dongbu HiTek, “Our BCDMOS process technologies facilitate the integration of cutting-edge analog functions, which add high value to IC designs targeting demanding applications such as those found in automotive electronics.” Noting that half of all ICs coming to market depend on analog functions, he added, “We look forward to using the TDKs released today with IC Station, Mentor’s Custom IC Design Flow solution, to seamlessly accelerate our foundry customers’ BCDMOS chip designs from system specifications to post-layout verifications.”

The Mentor Graphics® IC Station® Custom IC Design environment includes applications for design capture, floor planning, polygon editing, physical layout, schematic-driven layout, and chip assembly. When used with these applications, the jointly developed TDKs enable fabless companies to jump-start design cycles and cut time-to-market. The TDKs include all foundry-specific devices and models for use with the Mentor IC design tools, which are easily configured and offer an affordable option for physical design engineers. This option promises higher productivity as well as an immediate way to automate the physical layout of analog designs.

“Dongbu HiTek continues to demonstrate why it has emerged as one of the world’s most preferred specialized foundries for implementing advanced analog and mixed-signal IC designs,” said Robert Hum, vice president and general manger of Mentor’s Deep Submicron Division. “Dongbu HiTek is an extremely important Mentor partner, and we look forward to expanding our collaboration in ways that benefit our mutual customers.”
